  • There’s a few options for the finish wether you go for steel or stainless steel

Natural/uncoated - this is the most popular. essentially untreated allowing the steel to form a natural patina (which can be removed or maintained easily with a wire brush on a grinder if you choose to coat it or bring it back to its original look

Black Heat Resistant coating - a black coating which is thermal stable up to 900C. you’ve got the option of matt or gloss (matt is the more popular of the two)

you get an amount spare in a jar for any touchups you might want to do

Clear Heat resistant - very much like the black coating but you still get the metal look. its slightly less thermally stable than the black coating - whilst its the same heat resistance the pigments may yellow in very high temperatures

Boiled Linseed Oil - this a good alternative as you get deep patina and your able to apply and maintain by simply applying the oil to the grill or fire pit as its cool and then have a fire heating the body of the item and baking in the oil then continue to apply. you want to get it up to a heat where the oil gives of a slight smoke then cool down. this will then cure and polymerise creating a weather proof and durable coating. this can be done as often as you want.

This is what is often used on large pit smokers

due to the thickness of the material used your Grill will last a lifetime no matter what coating you choose!

  • All cooking surfaces and skillets comes pre-seasoned but if you’d like to reason this is how to do it

There are two ways to maintain the seasoning on your cooking surfaces. The easiest way is to cook with it. Every time you cook with oil, you're potentially adding another layer to the seasoning.

Some activities may remove a bit of seasoning, such as cooking acidic foods, using excessive heat, or scrubbing with abrasive utensils or scouring pads. That's why these simple cleaning steps have you rub oil into your pan after each use to ensure the seasoning remains for quality cooking.

You can also season your cast iron cookware in the oven. This method adds a more thorough layer of seasoning onto the entire pan, strengthening the bond to the iron. It can be beneficial to season your cast iron in the oven a few times a year. We recommend oven-seasoning when restoring a rusty cooking grate or skillet

    • scrub the surface with soapy water then rinse and dry thoroughly

    • apply a thin film of oil, applying too much may cause it to become sticky so wipe any excess oil and during the heating stage wipe and pooling oil with a paper towel or lint free cloth

    • heat the cookware either in a preheated oven for 200c for an hour or over a slightly lower fire on the frill or fire pit for an hour.

    • these steps can be repeated as many times you like

I season them with Vegetable but you can use any cooking oil with similar or higher smoking point

  • Yes the Grills and Fire pits can be left outside all year around. depending on the finish chosen some maintenance may be required to keep it looking as the original. I also offer covers for them

  • Lead time may vary depending on Season or size of the project.

a current rough estimate on a grill is 6-8 weeks - Spring 2025
